Naperville to begin Bauer Road construction project

Bauer Road in Naperville between Mill Street and Briargate Drive is set to be reconstructed beginning this week as part of the city’s $9.3 million roadway resurfacing program.

All parking and eastbound traffic on Bauer will be prohibited during the project, which is expected to last about eight weeks. City officials say drivers should expect delays and avoid the area if possible, but vehicles will be able to head west between Mill and Briargate.

Eastbound detour routes will be posted and access to side streets from westbound Bauer will be maintained throughout the construction process.

City officials said people living on Bauer should anticipate limited access to driveways and garages during certain phases of the project. Contractors will notify residents of dates when access will be limited.

K-Five Construction Corporation of Lemont is reconstructing Bauer as one component of this year’s roadway resurfacing program, which includes work on 27.5 miles of Naperville streets under two contracts between the K-Five and the city.

The program also includes funds for replacement of deteriorated curbs and sidewalks. All resurfacing projects are scheduled to be complete by Oct. 22.
