Deerfield orders residents to boil drinking water

The Village of Deerfield issued a drinking water alert Monday afternoon and ordered residents to boil water before drinking, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Deerfield’s water supply has been contaminated by fecal coliform, which can cause nausea, diarrhea and headaches. Village employees will continue to test the water to determine when it will be safe to drink.
