Deerfield man found in Des Plaines River
The body of a Deerfield man, who was missing about 10 days, was recovered from the Des Plaines River on Wednesday by the Riverwoods police, according to a statement issued by Deerfield Sgt. Dave Walsh.
The Deerfield police confirmed through the Lake County Coroner’s office that it was the body of Deerfield resident Ronald Martin Kite, 69. Kite had been reported missing by family members on July 29 and was last seen at the Deerfield Post Office on July 28, Walsh said.
Neither the Lake County coroner’s office nor the Deerfield police suspect foul play and will await the results of toxicology screening before determining a cause of death, the statement said.
The Lake County coroner and a Riverwoods police officer were unavailable Saturday for further comment.
