Naperville boy’s death ruled a drowning

An autopsy yesterday confirmed that the death of a 6-year-old boy found face down in a pond near his home Saturday was caused by drowning. DuPage County Coroner officials confirmed that Amer Kahn’s death was consistent with drowning. Full story.

Hoffman Estates man charged after recording under girl’s skirt

A Hoffman Estates man was held on $70,000 bond yesterday after police said he made a recording under a little girl’s skirt in a Palatine store. Juan Lara-Ramirez, 30 of Hoffman Estates, was arrested Friday and after filming under an 8-year-old girl’s skirt at a Wal-Mart at 1555 N. Rand Road in Palatine, according to Cook County court records. Full story.

Lawsuit filed in Aurora Township hopeful#146;s I-88 death

A lawsuit has been filed in response to the April death of an Aurora Township Board candidate. Carmen Cantu, 61, of Aurora, who unsuccessfully ran in the February primary for the Democratic nod for trustee, died after her car was rear-ended by a car and later struck by a semitrailer on Interstate 88, according to a lawsuit filed in Kane County. A-Rod brings baseball#146;s circus to Chicago

The Bronx Zoo becomes the South Side Circus tonight with the Yankees in town for a three-game series against the White Sox. USA Today reported that Alex Rodriguez will be in the Yanks#146; lineup, as well as in the main ring. The paper#146;s website said that baseball Commissioner Bud Selig is expected to suspend A-Rod on Monday in the Biogenesis drug case and A-Rod will be eligible to play after filing an appeal. Cubs#146; offense keeps coming up empty

The Cubs came up with a fistful of nothing, both Sunday and over the last week on what turned out to be a disastrous homestand. How#146;s this for futility? The Los Angeles Dodgers managed just 2 hits off Cubs pitching Sunday but still walked out of Wrigley Field with a 1-0 victory and a four-game sweep. Full story.

Paul Konerko#146;s ninth-inning homer sent the game into extra innings. All that did was prolong another defeat for Chicago #151; these White Sox are reaching new lows. Torii Hunter#146;s RBI single in the 12th inning gave the Detroit Tigers a 3-2 victory over the White Sox on Sunday, extending Chicago#146;s losing streak to 10 games. It#146;s the team#146;s first double-digit skid since June 1976. There are not many guys in the clubhouse that have ever been through anything like this.
