Grayslake park rededication next Saturday

The Grayslake Community Park District will rededicate Cullen Park on Saturday, Aug. 10, at noon. The public is invited to join the event. The park was recently fully renovated with the assistance from a $105,000 grant for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The park, named after Jacqueline Cullen, a former director of the park district, now has a new playground, a picnic shelter, baggo courts, a half basketball court, a drinking fountain, a bike rack and extensive landscaping. “The park district is very proud to complete the renovation of the park and we already see increased use of the park by the neighborhood it serves,” Executive Director Jeff Nehila said. The park is at Glen and Alta streets and was originally constructed in 1989.
