The Lake Zurich police department and the village's park and recreation department host a bike rodeo from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at The Barn in Paulus Park, 200 S. Rand Road, Lake Zurich. The Barn can be accessed via Rand Road or Whitney Road. Children will be able to learn and practice new skills on specially designed obstacle courses. Police officers will teach bicycle safety and participants can record the serial number and other information about their bicycle for use if it is stolen. A visit to the bike and helmet fitting station will assure the bike fits its rider. Concessions will be available. Participation is free, but registration is recommended by calling Monica Perry at (847) 438-5146.
