Two dead in Evanston smoke shop

Two brothers were found dead inside a tobacco shop in Evanston, ABC 7 Chicago is reporting.

Muhammed Abdul Azeem, 38, and brother Muhammed Abdul Mubeen, 34, were shot multiple times at the Evanston Pipe and Tobacco Shop, located in the 900 block of Davis, ABC 7 Chicago is reporting.

ABC 7 Chicago was told by family members that the mother went to the shop when her sons did not show up for Ramadan services at her house Tuesday evening. She got suspicious and reportedly went to police when she saw the store’s “Open” sign on with the doors locked and lights off.

The bodies were discovered in the basement of the store, which is located near a Metra stop in downtown Evanston, ABC 7 Chicago is reporting.

Police remain at the scene and the shooting remains under investigation.
