The residents were home at the time of the fire, but they safely evacuated on their own before firefighters arrived, Stout said.

Firefighters extinguished the fire, which was contained to the basement of the home, in about 20 minutes, Stout said. There were no injuries.

The estimated damage is about $40,000 to the home and roughly $10,000 to the home's contents, Stout said, and the cause remains under investigation.
