After police got a detailed description of the suspect from the victim, an officer located the suspect about an hour later walking on the 300 block of North Ardmore. The teenager ran away but later was taken into custody on the 300 Block of North Princeton Avenue, authorities said.

Officers searched the area and found the stolen items hidden in a barbecue grill near where the suspect was apprehended.

The 17-year-old, who wasn't named by police, has been charged with felony robbery. He was taken to the DuPage County jail to await a bond court hearing.
