Sebelius recruits bloggers to health care blitz
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius asked female bloggers attending a Chicago conference to "help spread the word" about new health insurance opportunities that begin this fall under a federal health care law.
Sebelius spoke Thursday to about 250 bloggers at the annual BlogHer conference.
She says "informed discussion" is important in a 24-hour news cycle where "more people could tell you the name of the new prince of England than could tell you that the health market opens Oct. 1."
The Obama administration has been recruiting celebrities, librarians and now bloggers to help with a massive marketing blitz aimed at enrolling the uninsured.
Blogger Jenni Prokopy says she wants to get accurate information to her readers who often have questions about insurance and health costs.
