Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran and other sheriff's officials will participate in a dunk tank fundraiser for Special Olympics at the Lake County Fair from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 25, through Sunday, July 28. For $5, participants will have three attempts to dunk Curran, deputies and corrections officers. AAA Tent Masters and Party Rentals in Gurnee donated a dunk tank, which will be located next to the sheriff's office outdoor display at the fairgrounds in Grayslake. All of the money raised will be donated to Special Olympics Illinois, which provides year-round sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
