St. Charles church to host its first talent show

Do you dance, sing or go “round the world” with a yo-yo? Perhaps you are funny, dramatic or otherwise talented? Baker Memorial Arts Academy is hosting open auditions for its first talent show.

Auditions are scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays, Aug. 5 and 19, in the church’s Baker Hall. The show will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, 307 Cedar Ave., St. Charles.

Interested performers may call (310) 691-4100 to reserve a spot, or show up either night.

People should come prepared to with a 1- to 3-minute performance piece. Accompanists will not be provided. Performers should provide their own accompanist or be prepared to audition a cappella. Referral contacts can be provided, if requested.

Baker Memorial Arts Academy is a new ministry of Baker Memorial United Methodist Church, overseeing its many musical and artistic endeavors. Music at Baker has always been and continues to be an important outreach to the Fox Valley community.

The Baker Memorial Arts Academy seeks to increase involvement with and support for music and the arts within the church and beyond its doors.
