White Sox vs. Detroit Tigers at U.S. Cellular Field
TV: WCIU Monday; Comcast SportsNet Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Radio: WSCR 670-AM
Pitching matchups: The White Sox’ Chris Sale (6-8) vs. Max Scherzer (13-1) Monday at 7:10 p.m.; Hector Santiago (3-5) vs. Rick Porcello (6-6) Tuesday at 7:10 p.m.; John Danks (2-7) vs. Anibal Sanchez (7-7) Wednesday at 7:10 p.m.; Jake Peavy (7-4) vs. Justin Verlander (10-7) Thursday at 1:10 p.m.
At a glance: After finishing their three-game series with the NL East-leading Braves, things don’t get any easier for the Sox with their next guest, the AL Central-leading Tigers, who are in town for the first time this season. The Sox may have Paul Konerko back in the lineup against Detroit. Things should get off with a bang in the opener of the four-game series when Chris Sale goes up against Max Scherzer. The finale should be a doozy as well, with Jake Peavy and Justin Verlander facing off. The Sox took two of three games at Comerica Park earlier this month in the first series between the clubs. There are 16 games remaining in the series.
Next: Kansas City Royals, Friday-Sunday at U.S. Cellular Field
