"Beers to You!" Fundraiser raises $4,200 for Palatine Senior Center
Shouts of joy were heard from the crowd of 100+ people at the first annual Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council's (PTSCC) “Beers to You!” Beer Tasting Fundraising event, as the winning raffle numbers were called. Excitement was in the air as people enjoyed pizza and sampled brews from the expansive list of 18 beers on tap at Lamplighter Inn Tavern and Grille on June 5th, 2013. To satisfy people's snack craving, PTSCC sold Pretzel Necklaces for $2 each or 1 Ticket. $4,200 was raised for the Palatine Township Senior Center, making the inaugural event a great success!
Nicole Finnegan, Admission Director at The Arlington Rehabilitation & Living Center was a sponsor and attended the event and said, “All that attended from The Arlington Rehab had a wonderful time. It was very nice and well put together. Everyone was very friendly, and the raffle was an added bonus!”
The most popular raffle items included a Patrick Sharp Chicago Blackhawks jersey; Kenny Chesney Corona cooler; a basket filled with a bottle of wine, Lamplighter Inn gift card and a VIP Dinner Package at Tony Sacco's; and a basket with a beautiful handmade quilt, Bath and Body Works products and one night stay at the Marriot Hotel in Hoffman Estates. We had some enthusiastic winners, appreciative of winning some fabulous items while supporting a great organization.
Our 50/50 Raffle was a big hit as well. With ticket prices at $2 each, 3 for $5, 10 for $10 or 25 for $20, who could beat those odds.

PTSCC is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year of providing programs and services which support older adults and their families by encouraging independence, well-being and connection to the community.
Our Recreation, Education, Health and Wellness, Noon Dining, Home Delivered Meals, Adult Day Care, and Social Services programs are available to persons 50 and older and their families who live in Palatine Township and the surrounding communities in the north and northwest suburbs. Services are available in English, Spanish and Russian at seven satellite locations. Our Social Services staff also makes home visits as needed.
