Hanover Park spending $140,000 to remove, plant trees
The Hanover Park village board recently approved a $100,000 contract with Tree Tech Pros to remove approximately 265 dead ash trees devastated by the emerald ash borer.
Trustees also approved spending up to $40,000 for Alaniz Lawncare Inc. to plant about 180 trees on village parkways.
Officials want to create a more diverse tree population, so 10 different species of trees will be planted. Both votes were unanimous.
