Closures set for Naperville’s Main Street

Motorists in downtown Naperville should expect delays starting next week when crews close Main Street between Van Buren and Benton avenues to install duct banks needed to increase reliability of electrical service and to prepare for additional development.

City officials said the work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, July 24, and continue through mid-August. Detours will be posted for motorists; pedestrians will be able to walk around the construction site on either side of Main.

Work will take place between 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and residents should expect noise and dust in the area.

Additional temporary lane closures on Van Buren Avenue will occur at the beginning and end of the project and flaggers will be on site during those times.
