3 Peoria police officers hurt in crash

PEORIA — Three Peoria police officers are in stable condition at a hospital after two police cruisers collided.

Authorities say none of the officers have life-threatening injuries after Monday evening’s crash. They’re recovering at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

The (Peoria) Journal Star says both cruisers were heading to a call when they hit each other. Investigators haven’t said how fast each car was traveling. Both vehicles were totaled.

A police dog in one car was taken to the vet as a precaution.
