District 62 hires new assistant principal for Algonquin Middle School

Jennifer Rosenzweig has been named the assistant principal of Algonquin Middle School in Des Plaines School District 62.

Her appointment was approved unanimously Monday by the district’s board of education.

Rosenzweig has served as dean of students at Larkin High School in Elgin Area School District U-46 since 2009. She began her career in education as a Spanish/French teacher in Wheeling Township Elementary District 21, and also taught Spanish at Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire.

Rosenzweig earned her doctoral degree in educational leadership from National-Louis University, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from North Park College, and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Illinois-Chicago.

She assumes the assistant principal position immediately, replacing Joanne Dimitriou who accepted a position in another district.
