Shooting guard Andrew Goudelock scored 26 points in 27 minutes and the Bulls rolled to an 81-67 victory over Memphis in their opening game at the Las Vegas summer league Saturday.
Marquis Teague finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds, while pushing the ball often on the fast break. Power forward Malcolm Thomas, who finished last season with the Bulls, added 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Goudelock, a 6-foot-3 guard, was the D-League MVP last season and played for the Lakers in 2011-12. Heís looking for a job this season, whether itís with the Bulls or another team.
The Bullsí two rookies brought mixed results. First-rounder Tony Snell didnít force anything and finished with 7 points, hitting 3 of 9 shots from the field. Second-round pick Erik Murphy went 0-for-6 from 3-point range, with no rebounds and 10 fouls. Players donít foul out in summer league.
Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau talked about Snell on the NBA TV broadcast.
ďHeís got great touch. Heís got to get a little stronger,Ē Thibodeau said. ďHeís got a good pace to his game. If heís open, heíll shoot it. If heís not, heíll move it. We love his athleticism, his length. He picks things up very quickly. We just want him to put a lot into each and every day and continue to improve.Ē
