St. Charles

• Karen Leann Wright, 36, of the 17000 block of Route 38, Maple Park, was arrested Sunday and charged with retail theft, according to a police report. Store security at the Meijer store, 855 S. Randall Road, St. Charles, observed Wright attempting to leave the store with six grocery items and one cosmetic item she did not pay for. The total value of the merchandise was about $49.

• Joseph M. Montes, 23, of the 1400 block of Exter Lane, South Elgin, was arrested Sunday and charged with disorderly conduct/public drunkenness, according to a police report. Officers found Montes unconscious on a bench in a parking at the intersection of North Second Street and Cedar Street in St. Charles. Montes was ticketed and transported to Delnor Hospital for treatment.

Elgin

• Uriel Espinoza, 19, of the 2300 block of South Street, Elgin, was charged Thursday with burglary, according to a police report. Police said Espinoza stole $5,540.92 worth of items from a 2007 Dodge Charger, including driver and passenger air bags, the center console, the dashboard console, the radio and glove compartment assembly and the driver and passenger seat belt assemblies. The car had been parked at an auto body shop in the 400 block of Renner Drive at the time of the burglary, police said. Espinoza appeared in bond court Friday morning, but his bail and court information were not available Friday.
