Library Announces Winners of Bookmark Contest

Winners of the “Mystery Bookmark Design Contest” created colorful designs to correspond with the reading theme: “Get a Clue @ Your Library.” Students receiving first-place in the three age-group categories are Alyssa Senese (age 5-7); Anya Moore (age 8-10); and Ritika Prasad (age 11-14). Their winning bookmarks were printed and will be distributed at the library throughout the summer.

This was the second year for the bookmark contest, which was held at the Central Library in Schaumburg, as well as the branch libraries in Hanover Park and Hoffman Estates. The contest took place in the spring, so winning entries could be printed and handed out to children visiting the library. In addition to the winning bookmarks, all of the entries appear on digital signage for library visitors to view.

“This is a great way for kids to get creative and really connect with the summer reading theme,” said Melissa Jones, kidsZone director. “We will likely continue this annual contest, as it's been quite popular. All of the kids created beautiful bookmarks, making it difficult to choose one winner for each category.”
