Microsoft to buy certain Blue Horseshoe technology

CARMEL, Ind. — Blue Horseshoe said Monday that it reached a deal to sell certain lines of warehousing and transportation supply chain technology to Microsoft Corp. for an undisclosed sum.

Blue Horseshoe said the technology, which is embedded directly into Microsoft’s existing supply chain offerings, is designed to help streamline distribution and warehouse operations.

The privately held Carmel, Ind., company said the technology will help Microsoft speed up the expansion of its supply chain management offerings.

Microsoft shares rose 28 cents to $34.49 in morning trading Monday.
