Sky scouting report

Chicago Sky (7-4) at New York Liberty (5-6)

When: 2 p.m., Prudential Center, Newark, N.J.

TV: WCIU

Last time: On Tuesday, the Sky lost to the visiting Seattle Storm 69-60; on Thursday, the Liberty lost to the host Los Angeles Sparks 97-89.

Skinny: The Sky is hoping to have center Sylvia Fowles back in the lineup. When she sat out Tuesday against Seattle to rest a sprained right ankle, things didn’t go so well for the Sky, which wasted a 21-7 first-quarter advantage. The offense didn’t move as well without Fowles on the floor, and the Sky’s shooting hit a season-low at 29.9 percent. Only two Sky players hit double figures as Elena Delle Donne and Epiphanny Prince finished with 12 points apiece. … The Liberty is coming off a four-game road trip that began with an 87-74 loss to the Sky on June 26. New York wound up losing three of the four games, including a Fourth of July special in Los Angeles. The Liberty got 34 points from Chicago native Cappie Pondexter and hit 48 percent of its shots, but Los Angeles was red-hot and finished with a 65 percent clip from the field.

Next: Washington Mystics at Sky, 11:30 a.m., Wednesday
