HEYWORTH, Ill. -- Emergency crews rescued a 17-year-old central Illinois girl who apparently tripped and fell into a ravine after watching a fireworks show.

McLean County Emergency Management Agency Director Curt Hawk said 17-year-old Brooke Bartelmay was found Friday afternoon north of a park in Heyworth. Hawk said the girl watched the village fireworks show on Thursday night and then took a walk along trails. The Pantagraph in Bloomington reported that authorities believe she became disoriented and fell into a ravine.
