Play kickball and enjoy stadium food Aug. 2 at Sox Fans vs. Cubs Fans Challenge

The Schaumburg Crosstown Classic is sure to be a kick!

Everyone will have a ball at Schaumburg Park District's Sox Fans vs. Cubs Fans Kickball and Cookout Challenge from 6 to 8 p.m., Aug. 2 at Olympic Park, 1675 E. Old Schaumburg Road.

This local Crosstown Classic will have participants ages 8 to 13 play kickball to determine which team ranks supreme.

“This will be a kickball battle royal,” said George Grey, manager of Bock Neighborhood Center. “Both Sox and Cubs fans should come out, show their team spirit, play kickball, eat stadium food and have fun!”

A one game winner-takes-all-challenge will determine which team has the best fans. After the game, kickball players will enjoy a hamburger, brat or hot dog, drink and chips. Participants should dress in their signature “Cubby Blue” or “Good Guy in Black.”

Registration deadline is July 29. Registration is available at parkfun.com and District facilities. Cost, including food, is $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents.
