The July Fourth Great Western Freedom 4 to benefit Lazarus House begins at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 4, at the LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, off Dean Street in St. Charles.

The run is a competitive, 4-mile CARA-certified race on a USATF certified course and on the Fox River Trail Runners Circuit. This event also features a 2-mile scenic walk suited for the whole family.

Event day registration is $25 for walkers and $30 for runners.

All participants are encouraged to help their neighbors in need by collecting pledges for Lazarus House. Forms are available with a link from the registration web page or on the events page at www.lazarushouseonline.com.

All proceeds benefit Lazarus House, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides emergency shelter, transitional living and rental/utility assistance to persons who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless and are connected to St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia or western rural Kane County.

Event sponsorship opportunities are also available starting as low as $100. More information is available at www.lazarushouseonline.com or by calling Donna at (630) 587-2144.
