Rosemont Mayor Stephens roast this Saturday

Tickets are still available for the Saturday, July 6, roast of Rosemont Mayor Brad Stephens at Zanies Comedy Club.

Chicago area comedians, television and radio personalities, and business and civic leaders will be among those skewering Stephens.

Proceeds from the event, which commemorates the anniversary of the club's opening at Rosemont's MB Financial Park, will benefit the Chicago-based Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation. The foundation provides services to children, from newborns up to age 19, diagnosed with pediatric cancer.

The fundraiser begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception followed by the roast at 7 p.m. at the club, 5437 Park Place.

“I look forward to the roast at Zanies,” Stephens said in a news release. “It will be a fun way to benefit Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation and celebrate Zanies anniversary.”

Guest roasters include comedian Pat McGann, Ramblin' Ray morning host on US99 FM, comedian Tim Walkoe, Pat Tomasulo of WGN-TV, comedian Mike Toomey, and other civic and business colleagues and friends of Stephens.

There will be a silent auction of items including a cruise, a Las Vegas getaway and packages featuring local hotels, MB Financial Park at Rosemont venues and transportation from Windy City Limo.

Tickets for the event cost $75, which includes wine and nonalcoholic beverages. VIP tickets are $125, including reserved seating, wine and appetizers from Kings Lanes, Lounge and Sports and Café Zalute & Retro Bar.
