Smart Farm of Barrington to Host an Heirloom Tomato Tasting on August 10.

On Saturday, August 10, Smart Farm will host an heirloom tomato tasting at it's hoop house on the Good Shepherd Hospital Campus in Lake Barrington. The tasting will take place from 10:00-11:30am. Five different kinds of homegrown heirloom tomatoes will be available for a side by side tasting. Featured will be the White Queen, the orange Earl of Edgecombe, the striped Green Zebra, the black Noir de Crimee, and the pink heart-shaped Anna Russian. Here's you opportunity to find out what locally grown, heirlooms tomatoes look like and taste like. There is no charge to come and taste. For additional information, please go to www.smartfarms.org.
