Farrakhan shows support for Jackson Jr., wife

Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan is showing his support for former Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. and his wife, Sandi.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports (http://bit.ly/19KhDrC ) Farrakhan spoke Saturday at the headquarters of Rainbow-PUSH. The organization is led by Jackson’s father, the Rev. Jesse Jackson.

Farrakhan told the audience that no one is perfect. He says “none of us come through this life without making a mistake or committing a sin.”

Jesse Jackson Jr. pleaded guilty earlier this year to using $750,000 in campaign funds to buy personal items, including a Rolex watch. Sandi Jackson, a former Chicago alderman, pleaded guilty to filing false joint tax returns.

They are scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Washington, D.C.

Both Sandi and Jesse Jackson Jr. have resigned their offices.
