Two men found dead in Lake Villa home
Lake Villa police are investigating the possible drug-related deaths of two family members found dead in their home on Thursday morning. Drug paraphernalia was discovered at the scene, police said. No foul play is suspected. Full story.
N. Aurora bicyclist fatally struck by car
A 50-year-old North Aurora man was killed Thursday afternoon after his bicycle was hit by a car near Batavia, officials said. Police said that Richard White was traveling north on Nelson Lake Road near the entrance to the Dick Young Forest Preserve. White was biking with traffic on the side of the road, was not wearing a helmet and had headphones on, police said. Full story.
O'Hare worker charged with trying to smuggle cocaine
A manager at a cargo and ground-service company at O'Hare International Airport was arrested this week after a federal investigation involving a government informant caught him trying to smuggle a shipment of cocaine off a flight from Mexico, authorities said. Full story.
Twin Lakes Triathlon canceled due to flooding
The annual Twin Lakes Triathlon in Palatine scheduled for Sunday has been canceled due to flooding, officials said on Thursday night. Participants will not receive refunds. Full story.
