Waukegan man accused of soliciting boy:

Lake County authorities say a Waukegan man has been charged with two counts of indecent solicitation of a child and driving on a suspended license. Sheriff’s office Sgt. Sara Balmes said authorities on Thursday seized Miguel A Vergara, 41, of the 400 block of Wainlow Avenue. On June 10, Vergara posted an advertisement on Craigslist for a companion, she said. He began communications with what he thought to be a 14-year-old boy, who was actually a Lake County sheriff’s detective. A meeting was arranged for 8 p.m. Thursday that resulted in detectives arresting Vergara. Balmes said Vergara told detectives his intentions were to have sex with the boy. Vergara must post 10 percent of a $100,000 bond to be freed from the Lake County jail. He’s to appear in court July 3.
