Buzz over to Spring Valley July 21 for free insect program

What's the buzz?

Schaumburg Park District's Buzzing About Insects program will take place from noon to 4 p.m., July 21 at Spring Valley's Merkle Cabin, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road. The free program will teach participants about the life and roles of insects through games, pictures and activities while focusing on the details that make each unique.

“Children will enjoy seeing insects up close and personal” said Mary Rice, environmental education coordinator for Spring Valley. “It's a great opportunity for children to share their excitement about insects with parents.”

Participants will meet at Merkle Cabin and hike around Spring Valley to learn more about the environment and the insects inhabiting it.

Root beer floats and other drinks will be available for purchase.
