Antioch teen killed, two charged with street racing in Gurnee crash

One teen died and three other people were injured after a street racing accident on Route 120 east of Hunt Club Road in Gurnee. A 2004 two-door Honda rolled over into the median when the driver lost control about 8:15 p.m. Monday.

A summer night race down a Gurnee street turned deadly when a 16-year-old Antioch girl was ejected from one of the vehicles as it lost control and rolled over. Cynthia Perez, a junior from Antioch High School, was sitting in the back seat of a two-door Honda when it flipped over on Route 120 about 8:19 p.m. Monday, Gurnee Police Cmdr. Jay Patrick said Tuesday. Two teenage drivers have been arrested in connection with the crash.
