Arlington Heights makes changes to holiday garbage collection

Collection services for refuse, yard waste and recycling will change next week for single-family residences served by GROOT in Arlington Heights because of the Independence Day holiday.

Collection services during the week of July 1 will change to the following schedule: For single-family residences north of Oakton Street, collection days will be Monday, July 1 and Friday, July 5. Refuse and yard waste pickup will take place on Monday and refuse and recycling pickup will be held Friday.

For single-family residences south of Oakton, collection days will be Tuesday, July 2 and Saturday, July 6. Refuse and yard waste will be collected on Tuesday, and refuse and recycling will be picked on Saturday.
