Naperville names interim library leader

The Naperville Public Library will be led by Deputy Director Julie Rothenfluh when Director John Spears steps down July 5.

Library board members named Rothenfluh interim director at their meeting last week. Board member Jeff Davis said the group plans to discuss how the library will search for Spears' permanent replacement at the next board meeting July 17.

Spears is leaving to lead the Salt Lake City library after less than two years serving as executive director in Naperville.

In more than 15 years at the Naperville Public Library, Rothenfluh has served as library manager at the 95th Street branch and children's services supervisor at the Nichols Library before becoming deputy director.
