Boomers to honor Coach Q's mustache

The Schaumburg Boomers want to help fans celebrate the Chicago Blackhawks' second Stanley Cup of in past four seasons with a giveaway of 1,000 facsimiles of Coach Joel Quenneville's bushy white mustache.

The promotion will be at the Boomers' game against the Southern Illinois Miners at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 3 at Boomers Stadium, 1999 S. Springinsguth Road in Schaumburg.

"What a night it was for all of Chicagoland," Boomers General Manager Andy Viano said. "When hope looked lost and the series looked destined for Game Seven, one beautiful tuft of facial hair never lost hope and pushed our beloved hockey team to another title. I think we echo the millions of other fans when we say how proud we are of that mustache and all of its teammates."
