Man living in Naperville basement faces child porn charges

By Marie Wilson

A 30-year-old man living in the basement of a Naperville home is facing six counts of possession of child pornography after police found images and videos on his computer, authorities said Thursday.

Timothy A. Carpenter, who police said was living in a basement on the 1500 block of Treeline Court in central Naperville, was taken into custody about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday after an investigation into possession and distribution of child pornography by the police department's high technology computer crimes unit.

Police said they executed a search warrant of Carpenter's home and found images and videos of children younger than 13 engaged in sexual conduct. The six counts of possession of child pornography Carpenter faces all are felony charges, authorities said.

Police said Carpenter was taken to DuPage County jail to await a bond hearing.
