The Wauconda village board on Tuesday agreed to hire Voorhees Associates to search for a new village administrator. The firm will be paid $16,000 for the task.

Current Village Administrator Zaida Torres will step down from that post, at the request of Mayor Frank Bart, once a replacement is found.

Torres will remain the village's finance director, a position she's held simultaneously since fall 2012.
