Community Ed Foundation Gears Up for 15th Annual Golf Classic this Friday

Calling all golfers and non-golfers alike! While the 15th Annual Mt. Prospect Golf Classic is this Friday, June 21, there's still time to register your foursome or be assigned to one.

Register your foursomes now for $500 or pay a discounted price of $600 with a hole sponsorship. You can also opt to be assigned to a foursome for $125. Non-golfers can also partake in the after-golf buffet at 2 p.m. for $20 per person or participate in the raffle or the silent auction for a few bucks.

The very popular and highly successful Helicopter Ball Drop is back this year. Numbered golf balls will be dropped from a helicopter the morning of the golf outing and the ball that's closest to the hole (or the ball that goes in) wins the top prize of $1,000. Other consolation prizes are also available; you don't have to be present to win.

Golf balls are sold at one for $20 or three for $50. You can still purchase your favorite numbered golf ball(s) at the Community Education office, or you can call Jacqui Menich at 847-718-7708 or Nelia Bernabe at 847-718-7799.

“The golf outing is an important fundraiser for us. Besides all the fun, you'll also feel good knowing you have helped support many vital educational programs and services we provide throughout the Northwest suburbs,” said Mike Field, Director Community Education.

This year's golf outing - at the Mt. Prospect Golf Club on 600 See-Gwun Ave. in Mt. Prospect - is presented by Mount Prospect State Bank and Gary Dorn. Check-in/breakfast is at 7:30 a.m. and the event starts at 8:30 a.m. Golfers can also purchase a Games Passport for $30 for participation in on-course games.

Proceeds from the golf outing will benefit the programs of the Community Education Foundation and the Mt. Prospect. For more information, please call the Community Education Foundation office at 847-718-7708.
