Surveyors from the National Weather Service are fanning out across portions of three northern Illinois counties to review storm damage after funnel clouds and possible tornadoes were reported in the area.
The agency says itíll head to eastern Lee County, far southern DeKalb County and Kendall County on Thursday to examine damage from Wednesday eveningís storm. The teams will be focusing on a corridor from Paw Paw and Shabonna east to Plano and Yorkville.
The mammoth storm wasnít as severe as forecasters predicted and caused minor damage. But it did pelt the region with golf ball-sized hail and high winds that reached 70 mph.
