Hoffman Estates Parks Foundation to host golf outing
Attendees at this year’s Hoffman Estates Parks Foundation golf outing will have a chance to golf with a retired professional athlete.
The Scott R. Triphahn “Celebri-tee” event will take place on Wednesday, June 26, at Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club. Teams of four will be accompanied by one of the guest golfers, who include sportscaster Bill Campbell, former Cubs players Rich Nye and Paul Popovich, former White Sox players Eric Soderholm and Al Weis, and former Blackhawks player Stan Makita, among others.
Money raised at the event will go toward the Friends of the HE Parks Foundation. The foundation raises funds for Hoffman Estates families facing financial hardships so they can let their children play a sport, attend a summer camp, take swimming lessons or go to preschool. It also funds a bus to transport low-income families to community events throughout the year and provides scholarships to students.
