"I believe in family and in the sport, and I consider that being able to keep kids in positive activities like soccer is the best way to have a family en route to prosperity," said Nerheim. "I love being in the community and our office loves to promote positive programs. That is why it is extremely important that we join and support our children in order to have a better society," he added.

The tournament was sponsored and organized by Puro Futbol Soccer League Association as well as the Waukegan Public Library, the Lake County Forest Preserve, Midwest Generation Waukegan Generating Station and the Waukegan Fire and Police departments.

"As the summer break approaches, we know the importance of keeping our children active and connected to the community," said Mark Nagel, Waukegan station director. "On behalf of our more than 130 employees who live and work in Lake County and their commitment to giving back to the community, we are proud to partner with the State's Attorney's Office and other Waukegan and Lake County organizations to support this program."

During the tournament kickoff event, the Police Department brought their Canine Unit for a K9 exhibition as well as their SWAT team truck for the tournament fans to watch a demonstration at the event.
