St. Charles native Danny Jimenez struck out 10 and did not walk a batter to lead the host Schaumburg Boomers to a 5-2 win over the Joliet Slammers on Friday night.

The Boomers (12-8), who had 10 hits, trailed twice before taking the lead with a 3-run sixth. Alexi Colon's first homer opened the scoring in the inning and tied the score at 2-2. Chad Mozingo and Sean Mahley (3 hits, 2 RBI) added RBI singles. James Bierlein worked a perfect ninth with 2 strikeouts to post his third save.

The Boomers continue their series against Joliet today at 6 p.m., as right-hander Chris Phelan (1-0, 1.88) gets the start against Slammers lefty Corey Kimes.
