Arlington Heights police looking for suspicious person

Arlington Heights police are looking for information about a suspicious person who approached a Northwest Suburban High School District 214 teacher in a parking lot.

At 9:40 p.m. on May 20, a man approached a teacher from behind in the parking lot at Target, 1700 E. Rand Road, at about 9:40 a.m. on May 20, police said. He covered her eyes and said “Guess who,” according to a news release.

The man removed his hands from the woman’s eyes and began talking to her, asking several questions as if he knew her. The woman told police she did not know the man and that she felt uncomfortable talking to him, so she ended the conversation and left the area.

The man was a white male in his late teens or early 20s and was driving a dark-colored Plymouth or Dodge mini van with a mission passenger side front hubcap, police said.

Anyone with information about the man’s identity should call Detective Pete Hamrick at (847) 878-3929.
