Mondavi marks 100 with wine dinner
In honor of Robert Mondavi's 100th birthday, Ruth's Chris Steak Houses throughout the country are hosting a five-course dinner with wine pairings at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13. The menu includes watermelon salad, pesto bread pudding, lamb chop with lemon-herb gremolata, filet mignon and steamed lemon pudding cake. Wines include Mondavi's Fume Blanc, "Oakville" Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, and Moscato d'Oro. $100 per person (tax and tip extra).

Battle of the countries
It's Spain v. France as chefs from Mon Ami Gabi and Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba! square off in a culinary battle from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, at Mon Ami Gabi Oak Brook. Small bites include inside-out bruschetta, melon seviche, bite-size beef Wellington, chorizo-wrapped dates stuffed with manchego, paella with vegetables and free-range chicken. Wines will be paired with each course. $30 per person plus tax and gratuity.
