Bartlett Aquatic Center dedicates new water park features

The Bartlett Aquatic Center, complete with new features, was officially dedicated Thursday, May 23, before a crowd of residents, Bartlett government officials and friends.

“You can feel the excitement in the crowd to try out the new features of the facility,” stated Marketing Manager Stephanie FitzSimons.

“Having the zip line, tube slide, lazy river, drop slide, new body slide, spray playground, as well as swimming features brings the facility into the market of water parks instead of neighborhood pool, and in today’s market it is essential that the park district provide these to our residents to continue to create an enjoyable recreational experience.”

The Bartlett Park District sends a thank you to everyone who attended the Bartlett Aquatic Center dedication despite the cool weather. Commissioner Steve Eckelberry “cut” the ribbon with a “WILD RIDE” on the zip line.

A special thank you to all those that supported the Bartlett Parks Foundation through its raffle purchase for the first “WILD RIDE” on the new features opening day. The ride winners were: Zip line: Michael Camerer; drop slide: Oliver deHaan; and body slide and tube slide/lazy river: Ashley Turner.
