Kraft Foods, Land O’Frost settle in patent lawsuit

Northfield-based Kraft Foods Group announced it has reached a settlement with patent infringement lawsuit against Lansing-based Land O’Frost.

Terms of the settlement were confidential, Kraft said in a release.

Kraft filed suit last February in federal court in Wisconsin, claiming patent infringement over packaging for cold cuts. According to the lawsuit, Kraft claimed a package container design for cold cut meats it had patented in 2007 was being used by Land O’Frost on meat being sold through groceries under various names without Kraft’s approval.
