Donation made to Local Women's Shelter

In November 2012 the Zonta Club of Oak Brook held a wine-tasting event for the express purpose of raising funds to donate to local agencies focusing on women. Club members elected to make donations to 2 local organizations, "Poised for Success" situated in Lombard and

Family Shelter Service, located in Wheaton. FSS provides support to women and children who are victims of domestic violence and abuse by offering services such as advocacy, counseling and emergency housing. The Zonta Club of Oak Brook is one of over 1200 clubs, with a worldwide membership of over 30,000. Founded in 1919, Zonta International, headquartered in Oak Brook, is a global organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy.
