Coast Guard Auxiliary to offer Canoe / Kayaking Class

DES PLAINES--Flotilla 095-39-02 of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will be offering the “Paddlesports America” class at Prairie Lakes Community Center on Saturday, June 22, from 12:00 to 4:00.

Canoeists and kayakers are boaters also. Now, there is a course available to address the unique needs of this audience. Paddlesports America is an exciting safety course designed to attract the novice paddle enthusiasts. This four-hour course presents five chapters of safety information:

Know your Paddlecraft – Before you get Underway – Operating your craft safely – Legal requirements – and Emergencies.

The class registration number is 5-05171-1. Fee for this course is $45.00 in-district, $54.00 out of district. Text is included. Advance registration with the Des Plaines Park District is required.
