FEMA looking for temporary workers in Illinois

SPRINGFIELD — A federal agency is looking for Illinois residents to assist with getting disaster assistance to thousands affected by the floods that occurred in April.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced Thursday that temporary, full-time workers are needed in finance and administration, writing and public information, planning, individual disaster assistance, information technology and logistics. Most of the 78 jobs will be located in Aurora. Others will be located in the impacted areas of the state.

Applications can be submitted through the Illinois Department of Employment Security website. Enter “FEMA” into the keyword search to locate the available positions.

Job candidates must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
